Some dental professionals believe that insertion of dental implants in immediate extraction sites can be performed routinely. Other Dentists believe that in all cases the site should be allowed to completely heal before insertion is attempted.
Bone and infection control are the 2 main factors in immediate dental implants. Implantation in immediate extraction site should only be attempted in cases in which any minor infection or inflammation is well controlled. The osteotomy should obliterate the walls of socket in every dimension.
But it is always important that allowing the site to heal first is an always acceptable option.
